On March 6 2007 just weeks after being kidnapped Harsh seized his chance to break free. While two of his captors were transporting him he spotted a group of police officers nearby. Taking advantage of the situation Harsh sprinted towards the officers prompting his abductors to retreat. Following his daring escape the police apprehended members of the gang including Guddan Kachhi and key figures involved in the kidnapping.

This began a protracted legal journey as the case proceeded to court. The trial commenced in 2014 with Harsh’s father Ravi Garg, a professional lawyer spearheading the courtroom battle. Throughout those years Harsh frequently attended court, inspired by his father’s determination and the unfolding legal drama.

His experiences as a victim and keen observations in the courtroom fueled his ambition to pursue a career in law. He pursued his degree at Agra College and completed his studies in 2022. By 2023 Harsh had registered with the Bar Council and officially embarked on a path in the legal field.

In June 2024 Harsh actively joined the prosecution team for his case. He stepped up to present the arguments in a special court in Agra leveraging his legal expertise to strengthen the case against his kidnappers. His deep involvement in the matter and dedication to seeking justice led to a victory.

On September 17, 2024, the court delivered its verdict with eight out of the fourteen defendants being found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment including the gang leader Guddan Kachhi. However, four individuals were acquitted due to lack of evidence while two others passed away during the protracted trial process.
