Dhruvi Patel wins Miss India Worldwide 2024, aspires to make a global impact

Computer information system student aims to blend bollywood dreams with humanitarian work.

Dhruvi Patel, a Computer Information System student from the United States, has been crowned Miss India Worldwide 2024, in a competition that celebrates Indian culture on a global stage. The pageant, held in Edison, New Jersey, is recognized as the longest-running Indian pageant outside of India.

Patel’s aspirations reach beyond pageantry. She dreams of becoming a Bollywood actor and serving as a UNICEF Ambassador, leveraging her platform to inspire change. “Winning Miss India Worldwide is such an incredible honour. It’s more than a crown—it represents my heritage, my values, and the opportunity to inspire others on a global scale,” Patel said after her crowning.

The Miss India Worldwide pageant, founded in 1990, provides a platform for women of Indian descent across the globe to showcase their talents and cultural pride. It draws contestants from countries with significant Indian diaspora communities, highlighting a blend of traditional and modern values.

The first runner-up, Lisa Abdoelhak from Suriname, and second runner-up, Malvika Sharma from the Netherlands, completed the top trio. Both women demonstrated strong cultural ties and aspirations to influence their communities.

In the Mrs. category, SuAnn Mouttet from Trinidad and Tobago took home the title, with Sneha Nambiar named first runner-up and Pawandip Kaur from the United Kingdom as second runner-up.

The Teen category saw Sierra Suret from Guadeloupe crowned as Miss Teen India Worldwide, followed by Shreya Singh from the Netherlands and Shradha Tedjoe from Suriname as first and second runners-up, respectively.

As the pageant continues its legacy, it remains a celebration of not just beauty but of cultural heritage, ambition, and the global influence of the Indian diaspora. For many like Patel, it serves as a stepping stone toward larger aspirations, whether in the world of entertainment or humanitarian work.
