Instamart, the quick delivery service by Swiggy, has removed “Swiggy” from its name to build its own identity as a separate brand. This change comes shortly after Zomato’s quick delivery platform Blinkit also made headlines when Zomato changed its name to "Eternal" on the stock market, showing how quick commerce is becoming a big focus beyond just food delivery.
Swiggy’s CEO Sriharsha Majety has often said that Instamart could grow bigger than Swiggy’s food delivery service in the future, both in reach and size. Though Instamart is still part of the Swiggy app, it also launched its separate app earlier this year. Swiggy said the brand’s new look and name show that Instamart is ready for its next phase of growth, while still staying connected to the Swiggy values that customers trust.
Instamart also introduced a new logo, which includes a small “S-Pin” symbol from Swiggy, as a quiet reminder of where the brand started. Swiggy’s Head of Brand, Mayur Hola, said that Instamart has now grown beyond just delivering groceries in big cities or serving food delivery customers. It has built its own identity, with loyal users who rely on it regularly for everyday needs.
He added that this rebranding is more than just a new look, it shows that Instamart is now a strong, standalone brand. While it still has Swiggy’s trust behind it, Instamart is focused on offering fast service, a wide range of products, and daily convenience. The new branding will soon appear on the app, delivery bags, packaging, and in all its communication and campaigns.
