Kuwait couple files for annulment 3 minutes after marriage

Days after the news of the Dubai Princess’ divorce broke, an article in Independent’s Indy claims that a Kuwait couple files for annulment barely three minutes after being officially wedded. The couple decided to call it quits after a fight in which the groom allegedly branded his wife stupid for tripping over. The Metro claims that the groom called her outlandish for toppling down.

Furious by his comment, the bride went straight to the judge and asked for an annulment, which was granted three minutes after they were married. This marriage is thought to be the shortest in the history of the country. The incident happened in 2019, but it has just come out again on social media. People on Twitter applauded the recently single woman for divorcing her unsupportive marriage when word of the divorce came out.
“I attended a wedding where the groom, as well as her father, spent their speeches poking fun of the of their wife as if it were a roast. She should have done what this woman did,” one user remarked on X, previously Twitter.
The daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also just announced her divorce on Instagram. It was stated by her that Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, her ex-husband, was “occupied with other companions.”
The 30-year-old princess used the triple talaq in her post, which is an Islamic divorce procedure often employed by men and entails saying “talaq” three times. “As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you,” Mahra wrote. “Take care. Your ex-wife.”
