Captain Anshuman Singh’s father claims widow is “planning to flee to Australia with Kirti Chakra, money”

After the investiture ceremony, Smriti discussed her personal life and remarked that it was "love at first sight" when she first met Captain Anshuman.

The father of Captain Anshuman Singh, who received the Kirti Chakra posthumously, has claimed that his daughter-in-law, Anshuman Singh’s Widow Smriti Singh, is preparing to leave the nation with the ex gratia money and the gallantry medal.

The father of Captain Anshuman stated to ABP News that Smriti had tricked his son out of love. “He said she wasn’t in love with him.” President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the Kirti Chakra, the second-highest peacetime bravery honor, on Smriti and her mother-in-law on July 7.

After the investiture ceremony, Smriti discussed her personal life and remarked that it was “love at first sight” when she first met Captain Anshuman at an engineering college.

Address Change Controversy

Additionally, according to Captain Ashuman’s father, Smriti intended to escape to Australia with the ex gratia money and the valor medal. The accusation is made in the days immediately after the parents of the fallen soldier’s assertion that their daughter-in-law stole their son’s clothing and picture book, as well as the bravery award, and brought them home to Gurdaspur, Punjab.

Additionally, media reports had indicated that Smriti had ensured that any correspondence on Singh would be sent to her by changing the permanent address given in her husband’s official paperwork from Lucknow to Gurdaspur.

The father of Captain Anshuman also demanded an amendment to the Army’s “next of kin” statute. In the event that a person serving in the military is injured, this legislation establishes who would inherit assets and receives information on their health. Ex gratia is also determined by the NOK norms, which are comparable to the idea of a nominee.

The parent or guardian’s name is included in the NOK when a person enlists in the Army. As their next kin, the spouse’s name takes the place of the parent’s after marriage.

A social media user’s disparaging remark about Smriti Singh recently caused outcry, with the National Commission for Women (NCW) calling for severe action to be taken against the offending person.
