President Droupadi Murmu on Monday announced new appointments for key constitutional positions in two states and one Union Territory. Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has been appointed as the new Governor of Haryana, and senior politician Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been named the Governor of Goa.

Along with these changes, the President has also appointed Kavinder Gupta as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Gupta replaces Brigadier (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd), whose resignation from the post has been accepted.

These appointments mark a reshuffle in important leadership roles across the country.

Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh is well known for his work in higher education. He has held several top academic and administrative positions and now takes over as the Governor of Haryana.

Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju is a veteran leader and former Union Minister for Civil Aviation. He has served in many key roles both in Andhra Pradesh and at the central government level. He will now take charge as the Governor of Goa.

Kavinder Gupta, a senior BJP leader from Jammu, has served earlier as the Speaker of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly and also as Deputy Chief Minister during the PDP-BJP coalition. He will now represent New Delhi in Ladakh as the new Lieutenant Governor.
