Woman bleeds to death after sex, boyfriend spent hours searching remedies online
After waiting for his friend, the man drove the woman to the hospital in a private vehicle, but she was declared dead upon arrival.
A 23-year-old nursing graduate from Gujarat died due to excessive bleeding after intercourse at a hotel in Navsari district. Her partner, a 26-year-old man, was arrested by the police for negligence, as he failed to take her to the hospital immediately and instead spent hours searching remedies online.
The man, according to police, did not seek medical help after the woman began bleeding heavily. Instead, he searched his phone for advice on how to stop the bleeding. Investigators said he attempted to engage in intercourse again despite the woman’s severe condition. When he noticed the bleeding was worsening, he spent between 60 to 90 minutes searching online for remedies and tried using a cloth to stop the blood flow, but it was ineffective.
It wasn’t until the woman fainted that the man contacted his friend. He also attempted to clean the blood stains in the hotel room, police said. After waiting for his friend, the man drove the woman to the hospital in a private vehicle, but she was declared dead upon arrival.
Police investigation and arrest
Navsari MP Sushil Agarwal stated that forensic reports confirmed the woman died due to excessive blood loss caused by severe vaginal tearing. He criticized the man for his delay in seeking medical assistance, noting that if he had called an ambulance or taken her to the hospital earlier, she could have been saved with IV fluids, blood, and medicines.
The police have charged the man with culpable homicide not amounting to murder and destruction of evidence. The accused reportedly called the woman’s parents during the journey to the hospital, but she was already dead when they arrived.
The woman and the man had first met three years ago but lost contact for two years. They reconnected seven months ago via social media. The case highlights the critical importance of immediate medical care in emergency situations.
