Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave U.S. President Donald Trump a letter saying he had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. This happened during their meeting at the White House. Netanyahu told Trump that he deserved the peace prize and handed him the letter he had sent to the Nobel committee.

Trump, who has often said he wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize and calls himself a peacemaker, looked surprised and happy. He thanked Netanyahu, saying, “Coming from you, this means a lot. Thank you very much.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised U.S. President Donald Trump for his efforts to bring peace and security, especially in the Middle East. Netanyahu said Trump was showing strong leadership in many places and that their teams work well together to handle challenges and create new opportunities. He also referred to recent U.S. attacks on Iran and said, “He’s making peace in one country and region after another.”

Netanyahu arrived at the White House on Monday for a private dinner with Trump. This was their third meeting this year. The meeting happened while Israel is facing pressure over its military actions in Gaza and the ongoing hostage crisis. Families of people held hostage by Hamas are urging both leaders to make sure that any future ceasefire deal includes the release of all captives.

Earlier in the day, Netanyahu also met U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff at Blair House, which is the presidential guest house near the White House.
