A man from Sant Kabir Nagar did something unexpected to keep himself safe following news of two shocking murders in the state. Bablu, a worker, was terrified of being hurt. He hired someone to get his wife wedded to her lover and went so far as to serve as a witness to their marriage.
Bablu married Radhika in 2017, and they have two kids. He lives in another state, but it was recently found that Radhika had a relationship with Vikas, who is a fellow villager, for more than a year. To verify the affair, Bablu went home secretly and watched Radhika's movements.
After being convinced, Bablu did not fight or argue. He instead informed the village elders and proposed that Radhika should wed Vikas. In keeping with Hindu traditions, Radhika and Vikas were wedded at a Shiva temple, and Bablu ensured he went through the legal formalities as well. Wedding videos capture Vikas applying sindoor on Radhika's forehead in front of villagers, including Bablu and his kids.
Bablu has decided to raise their children alone after the marriage.
“Wanted to avoid harm”
Responding to a question as to why he opted for such an unorthodox solution, Bablu explained to PTI, "I decided to arrange their marriage to avoid potential harm to myself. In recent days, we have seen that husbands have been killed by their wives... After seeing what happened in Meerut, I decided to get my wife married to her lover so that we can both live peacefully."
Although Bablu and Radhika are not divorced, Bablu explained that the marriage is valid because it took place in front of villagers and no one raised any objections.
Crimes that terrified Bablu
Bablu was terrified by two horrific crimes that recently occurred in Uttar Pradesh.
In Meerut, Muskan, 27, and her boyfriend Sahil drugged and murdered Muskan's husband, Saurabh, a former Navy officer. They chopped his body after murdering him and threw it into a cement-lined drum.
The gruesome murder took place on March 3 after Saurabh came back from London for his daughter's birthday. Muskan had manipulated Sahil into committing the crime by convincing him that he was receiving messages from his late mother on Snapchat. The duo went to Shimla and Manali and even celebrated Holi there after the murder.
In Auraiya, another woman, 22-year-old Pragati Yadav, and her boyfriend were accused of murdering her husband, Dilip, only two weeks after their marriage was arranged. The pair had hired a hitman, and Dilip was found with gunshot injuries in a field. He died later in the hospital.
These alarming incidents disturbed Bablu so much that he decided to resort to the rare act of fixing up his wife with her lover and securing peace for all concerned.
