A shocking incident happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district, where a 22-year-old woman, Pragati Yadav, along with her lover, Anurag Yadav, planned and carried out the murder of her husband, Dilip.

According to the police, Pragati and Anurag had been in a relationship for four years. However, their families did not approve of their love and forced Pragati to marry Dilip on March 5. Just two weeks into the marriage, Pragati and Anurag decided to get rid of Dilip so they could be together.

On March 19, Dilip was found in a field with severe bullet injuries. He was rushed to the community health centre in Bidhuna for treatment. As his condition worsened, he was moved to Saifai Hospital and later shifted to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Eventually, he was brought back to a hospital in Auraiya on March 20, where he died the next day.

The murder plan and arrests

Police investigations showed that Pragati and Anurag, desperate to reunite, hired a contract killer named Ramaji Chaudhary. They paid him Rs 2 lakh to murder Dilip.

Officials explained that Ramaji, along with other accomplices, took Dilip to a field on a bike. There, they brutally beat him and then shot him before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, Dilip’s brother filed a complaint at the Sahar police station. The police identified the suspects through CCTV footage and arrested Pragati, Anurag, and Ramaji. The authorities also seized two pistols, four live cartridges, a bike, two mobile phones, a purse, an Aadhar card, and Rs 3,000 from the accused.

The police are still searching for the other individuals involved, who remain on the run. The investigation is ongoing to bring all those responsible to justice.
