Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, a wanted Khalistani terrorist with links to Pakistan’s ISI and the banned group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), has been arrested in Sacramento, California.

He was taken into custody by the FBI and U.S. immigration officials for his involvement in terror activities and for entering the country illegally. Authorities said Singh crossed into the U.S. through the Mexico border in 2021 using a human trafficking network. Since then, he has been hiding by using untraceable phones and encrypted apps to avoid detection.

The FBI, in a statement shared on social media, said: “Today, Harpreet Singh, an alleged terrorist involved in terror attacks in Punjab, India, was arrested by the FBI and U.S. immigration officials in Sacramento. He is linked to two international terror groups and has entered the U.S. illegally. He used burner phones to avoid being caught.”

Harpreet  Singh is considered one of the top threats to public safety in Punjab and has been accused of planning and funding several terror attacks in the state, including strikes on police buildings and religious places. In September, he was linked to a grenade attack on a retired police officer in Chandigarh.

India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) had placed a cash reward of ₹5 lakh for information leading to his arrest. According to reports, Singh entered the U.S. illegally via the Mexico border in 2021 and avoided capture by using burner phones and encrypted apps.

Authorities believe Singh worked closely with Pakistan-based gangster-turned-terrorist Harvinder Singh Sandhu, also known as Rinda. Together, they are suspected of running a network that supports Khalistani terrorists in various countries by providing money, weapons, and logistical help. Singh is also facing charges related to terrorism, drug trafficking, and international criminal conspiracy.
