In the email, Megan attached a spreadsheet listing the costs, including the bridesmaid dress, hair and makeup, a gift for the bride, a deposit for the bachelorette party, and extra fees for other expenses. Shocked by the high costs, the woman contacted Megan and explained that she couldn’t afford it due to financial commitments like student loan payments and personal savings goals.

Megan didn’t change her mind, saying these costs were "normal" for weddings. "I just want everything to be perfect, and these expenses are necessary," she wrote on Reddit. "If you can’t afford it, I understand, but I can’t change the plans for everyone."
The situation has started an online debate about the growing financial pressure on bridesmaids and wedding guests.
