OpenAI is all set to launch several advanced AI agents in the near future. These AI agents will be highly specialized, each with expertise in a specific field, allowing them to perform tasks at an expert level.
Unlike OpenAI’s existing AI models, which are available through subscription plans, these new AI agents may not be included in the current pricing tiers. Instead, the company is expected to offer them as separate services.
Since these AI agents can handle complex tasks like a professional, they are likely to come with a significantly high price. This move could make AI more useful for businesses and professionals needing expert-level assistance.
According to the information, OpenAI is planning to launch up to three highly specialized AI agents. These AI agents will have deep knowledge in specific fields and could be very expensive. People familiar with the matter said that these AI agents might cost as much as $20,000 per month (around ₹17.4 lakh). However, the report did not say when they will be released.
One of the AI agents is described as a "high-income knowledge worker." This term is usually used for people who have deep expertise in their field and do tasks like strategic planning, decision-making, and analysis. Examples include top executives (CXOs), management consultants, and financial analysts.
The report says that this AI agent could cost around $2,000 per month (about ₹1.74 lakh). OpenAI is also developing an AI agent specifically for software development, which could come with a hefty price tag of $10,000 per month (around ₹8.7 lakh). This AI agent is expected to excel in coding, debugging, fixing errors, and deploying software efficiently, making it a valuable tool for businesses and developers handling complex projects.
For comparison, another AI software developer, Devin AI, is currently available for $500 per month (around ₹45,500). OpenAI already provides coding assistance through its ChatGPT platform, but unlike these upcoming AI agents, ChatGPT cannot perform tasks independently. The new AI agents are expected to work autonomously, making them more powerful and efficient.
The most advanced AI agent OpenAI is working on is a PhD-level research agent, which is expected to be priced at a staggering $20,000 per month. This AI could be capable of handling highly complex tasks, including generating new ideas, conducting in-depth research simulations, and providing detailed analysis on various topics.
Google has also entered the advanced AI research space with its Gemini Deep Research feature, which acts as a personal research assistant. It is available to Gemini Advanced subscribers for ₹1,950 per month.
However, OpenAI’s research AI, with its significantly higher price, is expected to offer far more advanced capabilities, possibly making it a game-changer for businesses, researchers, and professionals in need of deep analytical insights.
