Kasim and Sulaiman Khan, who are 26 and 28 years old, have rarely spoken in public. Living in London, they sat down with social media host Mairo Nawfal on May 13 to talk about their father, former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan, who is in jail.
In the nearly 50‑minute interview, the brothers asked for help from the most powerful people in the world. They said,
“We would love to speak to President Trump or try and figure out a way where he would be able to help out. Because at the end of the day, all we are trying to do is free our father, and ensure his basic human rights.”
They urged any country that supports free speech and democracy to call for Imran Khan’s release.
Imran Khan's condition behind bars
The brothers painted a grim picture of their father’s prison life:
“He's in a death cell, no light, no lawyer, no doctor, but he refuses to break,” they said.
They believe the charges against him are driven by politics, not real crimes:
“Anyone who looks into it a little can kind of see" that the cases against Khan are politically motivated,” Sulaiman added.
“It has gone a bit quiet recently. We would love people to reach out to US if they have some influence or potential to help with this situation,” Sulaiman said. They also made sure they had their father’s permission before speaking.
