A company in China is being criticized on social media for listing “free toilet use” as one of the job benefits in a recent advertisement. The ad also mentions other unusual perks like free use of lifts and no electricity charges for employees working overtime.
The job post was shared by a social media account called Workplace Slackers, but it didn’t reveal the company’s name or what the job title was.
According to the post, the job involves working with Excel, paying attention to details, and processing orders. The company expects employees to work nine hours a day, and they will get only four days off a month.
There are two work shifts available:
-
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
-
1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The salary is 4,000 yuan per month (around $550), and employees will get double pay on national holidays. After working for a full year, the salary will go up by 100 yuan (about $14).
Many users online were shocked that basic things like using the bathroom or the lift were listed as job benefits. These are usually considered normal rights in most workplaces, not something extra.
People also pointed out how hard the work hours seemed, especially with such a small salary and very few days off.
While the company’s name remains unknown, the listing has drawn attention to the tough working conditions that still exist in some places in China.
