The police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from a woman, which disclosed Saurabh’s fraudulent activities. According to officials, he had deceived multiple women by falsely promising them government jobs and marriage, despite already being married.

"The accused, who impersonated an Assistant Commandant of the CRPF, misled several people and women with false job offers and marriage proposals. A thorough investigation is underway, as this is not his first offence, he was previously arrested in Allahabad," SP Arvind Kumar told India Today.

During the probe, the police recovered several incriminating items from the accused, including a fake CRPF uniform, belt, nameplate, driving license, multiple Aadhaar cards, ATM cards, blank cheques, two mobile phones, a laptop, and a Brezza car.

Saurabh, who worked as an agent for a private insurance company, used his job as a cover to execute his fraudulent schemes. Under the guise of selling insurance, he visited police and paramilitary camps, where he secretly took photographs and videos.
