A woman in Nagpur, Maharashtra, discovered her husband's history of sexually abusing multiple women after hacking his WhatsApp account. She found chats, photos, and videos of him with women in compromising situations. The man, 33-year-old Abdul Sharique Quereshi, has now been arrested for sexually abusing several women, as reported by the Times of India.
As per the report, the man, who has a three-year-old daughter with his wife, has hidden his marital status and child while dating multiple women. He lured them into physical relationships with false promises of marriage and secretly recorded them in intimate moments to later use for blackmail.
His wife, whom he married in 2021, initially went to the Pachpaoli police station to file a harassment complaint, citing his constant demands for unnatural activities and mental torture. She wanted him jailed, but the police could only register a case of cruelty against him, as Supreme Court guidelines prevented his immediate arrest.
Quereshi, who runs a paan kiosk at Teka Naka, was exposed after his wife hacked his WhatsApp account to gather evidence against him. Determined to get him arrested despite legal hurdles, she accessed his chats, videos, and images, uncovering not only his multiple affairs but also his blackmailing of several women.
One of his victims was a 19-year-old girl from Bhandara, whom he met at a ‘mahaprasad’ event last year. Introducing himself as ‘Sahil Sharma’ and pretending to be single, he lured her into multiple hotels in Pachpaoli and Kamptee, where he repeatedly exploited her under the false promise of marriage. According to the report, he even convinced her to sell a gold ring gifted by her mother for ₹30,000 and took the money, threatening to leak her nude photos online if she refused.
Police informed that Quereshi had been exploiting multiple women at the same time. However, only the 19-year-old girl agreed to file a complaint after his wife reached out to all the victims.
Based on her complaint, a case of rape was registered against Quereshi, leading to his arrest. "The court has granted us a one-day custody remand, which will be extended further," senior inspector Baburao Raut of Pachpaoli police station told Times of India.
