Sometimes, we all face awkward moments at work when we’re unsure how to respond or end up feeling embarrassed. In office settings, especially during calls, emails, or meetings, people are usually expected to stay professional. However, emotions can slip through even in the most formal situations. That’s exactly what happened in a story that’s now going viral on Reddit.

An employee accidentally said “Love you” to an important client at the end of a call. The employee shared this experience on Reddit and even posted a screenshot of the client’s reply. The post said, “Accidentally said ‘Love you!’ at the end of a call with an important client yesterday. I heard him giggle as I hung up, and I was mortified. Today, I saw he emailed me this.”

The client, who had laughed a little when he heard those words, replied kindly in an email:
“Just wanted to say that I didn’t mean to laugh at you when you accidentally signed off on our call with a ‘love you’. I just found it funny because I’ve definitely done that before, and I know it happens. I’m glad you have enough love in your life that the response comes naturally. If anything, you should be proud of that.”

The client also added greetings and some meeting details in the same email.

Many people on Reddit found the story sweet and reacted positively. One user wrote, “Happens more if you are working from home and your wife/partner and kids are floating about. 99 per cent of people think it’s funny/endearing or say they’ve done it too."

Another said, “That was incredibly kind to break the ice and give such encouraging words. That person is obviously very emotionally intelligent."

Someone else shared, “I told my supervisor I loved her at the end of our weekly touchpoint call—she chuckled and said she loved me too. We shared a good laugh. I am happy to see empathy from a random human; it is much needed."

The post has now become a wholesome viral story, reminding people that even awkward moments can turn into something positive.
