A 25-year-old man named Rahul, also known as Golden, was brutally murdered in Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh. His 17-year-old wife, along with two friends of her lover, killed him by stabbing him 36 times with a broken beer bottle. The shocking incident took place on the night of April 12. After the murder, the girl made a video call to her boyfriend Yuvraj and showed him Rahul’s body. She told him, “The job has been done.”
The next day, police received information about a body found in the bushes near the Indore-Ichhapur road, opposite the ITI College. The body had deep injuries and was identified as Rahul, son of Ramchandra Pandey Kunbi Patil, a resident of Shahpur. A case was registered, and the investigation began.
Police later found out that Rahul’s wife had been missing since the incident. Further inquiry revealed that she was in a relationship with a man named Yuvraj. He was soon taken into custody. During questioning, Yuvraj admitted that he and Rahul’s wife had planned the murder together.
Trapped and killed during a fake outing
According to the police, on the day of the murder, Rahul’s wife took him out on the pretext of shopping. After their visit to the market and having food at a roadside eatery, they were followed by Lalit and a juvenile, both friends of Yuvraj.
As they reached near the ITI College, the girl dropped her slipper near a speed breaker and asked Rahul to stop the vehicle. When he stopped, Lalit and the juvenile arrived on a motorcycle. They dragged Rahul into the bushes. First, the girl hit him on the head with a beer bottle. When Rahul became unconscious, the juvenile stabbed him several times with a sharp weapon. Lalit also stabbed him, leading to his death on the spot.
After killing him, the girl, Lalit, and the juvenile went to Raver railway station and boarded a train to Itarsi. They later went to Ujjain. All of them remained in contact through mobile phones throughout the planning and execution of the murder.
Police arrested all four accused: Bharat alias Yuvraj (20), Lalit (20), the minor wife of Rahul, and the juvenile accomplice. They were caught in Sanwer after a tip-off. The police are continuing further investigations.
