The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a cash reward of ₹1 crore for Kranti Goud, a member of the Indian women’s cricket team that recently won the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Kranti, who hails from Ghuwara in Chhatarpur district of Bundelkhand, was recognised for her impressive performance throughout the tournament and her key role in India’s historic win.

The Indian women’s team created history on Sunday by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium to lift their first-ever World Cup trophy. Congratulating the team, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised the performance of India’s women cricketers and highlighted the pride brought to the nation and the state.

“I want to congratulate the daughters of our country for their brilliant performance in the World Cup final. India’s daughters are making the nation proud, just as our country continues to move forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Yadav while addressing the media.

He added, “Madhya Pradesh’s daughter Kranti Goud, from Chhatarpur, was part of the winning team. On behalf of the state government, I am pleased to announce an incentive of ₹1 crore to honour her achievement.” Kranti’s contribution, especially with her bowling, played a vital role in guiding the Indian team to the finals and securing the country’s maiden ODI World Cup title.

Earlier, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced a cash reward of ₹51 crore for the entire Indian women’s cricket team, including players, coaches, and support staff. “Just as Kapil Dev’s 1983 team inspired a generation, Harmanpreet Kaur and her players have ushered in a new era for women’s cricket,” Saikia said.

He also credited BCCI secretary Jay Shah’s tenure for bringing a major transformation to women’s cricket in India, introducing pay parity and increasing ICC prize money by 300%, from $2.88 million to $14 million. With this historic triumph, India has finally overcome the heartbreaks of 2005 and 2017, giving the nation a new reason to celebrate and marking a moment that will remain etched in cricketing history.
