Team India will soon sport a new sponsor on its jerseys, with Apollo Tyres securing the rights after Dream11’s exit. A senior BCCI official confirmed the development to PTI on Tuesday, saying, “The deal has been signed with Apollo Tyres. We will announce it soon.”

The sponsorship comes after the Indian cricket team briefly played without a jersey sponsor during the Asia Cup in Dubai.

According to NDTV, Apollo Tyres will be paying around ₹4.5 crore per match, higher than the ₹4 crore per game that Dream11 had been paying. The agreement, running until 2027, is expected to earn the BCCI nearly ₹600 crore.

Reports suggest that Canva and JK Tyre were also in the race for the sponsorship but lost out in the three-way competition. Birla Opus Paints had shown interest but chose not to enter the bidding process.

Dream11’s contract ended after the government banned real-money gaming platforms under a new law. This led the BCCI to tighten its rules for sponsors. Brands linked to gaming, betting, crypto, and tobacco were barred from bidding. Several other industries, like alcoholic beverages, insurance, banking, and home appliances, were also marked ineligible.

It remains unclear whether the men’s team, currently competing in the Asia Cup in the UAE, will get new jerseys during the tournament itself. However, sources said the Indian women’s team is likely to wear Apollo-branded jerseys in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
