A heartbreaking story of survival and rejection has captured the attention of millions online. A woman who was trafficked into the sex trade by her uncle at 16 has opened up about her emotional journey back home after 15 years.

Her story was brought to light through a video posted by content creator Anish Bhagat, which has now been viewed over 6.7 million times on Instagram.

In the video, the woman prepares to visit her village for the first time in over a decade.

Her fellow sex workers gather around her before she leaves, offering small gifts for her family—a touching gesture that shows their silent support and understanding.

She also decides to buy presents for her loved ones, including a saree for her mother and a watch for her elder brother. However, she admits she no longer knows much about her brother’s life.

She shared that her father has passed away, adding another layer of sadness to her journey. With Bhagat by her side, she finally arrives in her village and walks toward the home she left behind years ago.

What should have been a joyful reunion turns into heartbreak as her family refuses to accept her. They shut their door on her, fearing what others in the community might say.

The video caption reads: “Her family, too afraid of what others might say, chose to push her away rather than acknowledge her pain,” read the caption.

“I didn’t choose this life,” she said. “But they looked at me like I did.”

Users have shown strong emotions in this video online. Many viewers have expressed sympathy for the woman and criticized the societal stigma that led to her rejection.

One user commented: “So her uncle is accepted in society.. but not her?” Another wrote: “Sadly that's not the first uncle and will not be the last. If someone gets hit by a car and breaks a leg, would this person ask forgiveness of the family? She has nothing to ask anyone's forgiveness for! It's the family who let her down!! Her and many other girls like her!! They should ask her forgiveness for not standing up for her, for not being a safe place for the child they brought into this world.”
