A surprising video is spreading fast on social media, showing a young boy wearing a school uniform driving a big SUV, a Mahindra XUV700, through busy traffic. Other children in school uniforms were also inside the car. This video has made many people worried about road safety and whether parents are properly watching over their kids.
The video, shared on Instagram, shows the SUV moving through a busy street, with some children dangerously leaning out of the sunroof. Onlookers were stunned by what they witnessed. According to the post, the children appeared to be around 12 to 13 years old and were spotted in Maharashtra’s Thane.
Instagram user Prateek Singh shared the video, which was originally recorded by Anup Kemkar. In his caption, Singh quoted Kemkar, saying, “I recorded a video while driving, showing school students, likely in 8th or 9th grade (around 12-13 years old). A few of them were sticking out of the sunroof." He added, “I yelled at them for their safety. There were around 5-6 students in the car. Parents should be held responsible for this. This is extremely unsafe for both the kids inside the car and the surrounding pedestrians, especially the school children walking and crossing the road in that area."
Netizens express outrage
The video has now reached over 22.5 million views on Instagram and has been shared well over 151 thousand times. It has triggered strong reactions from social media users, many criticising the lack of parental supervision and the children’s reckless behaviour.
One user commented, “This is not just dangerous; it’s outright negligence. Where are the parents?"
Another added, “Allowing kids to drive on public roads is beyond irresponsible. Authorities must take strict action!"
Some users even suggested punishment for the car owner. “The vehicle should be impounded with a hefty fine on the owner," one person wrote. Another urged, “Prateek, I request you to make a proper alerting video on this tagging police and authorities."
