After over 100 employees at Noida-based YesMadam were laid off, a solution came from Gurugram-based Magicpin. India’s third-largest food delivery app, Magicpin, has invited applications from 100-odd affected employees of the Noida-based firm to apply for positions across its departments.

Madhav Sharma, Creative Director at Magicpin, took to LinkedIn and posted this heartwarming campaign. In the post, he added, “This campaign was executed without any stress.” He posted a picture in which two Magicpin employees stood holding placards and wearing helmets.

The first one carried the text, “No madam. Stressed employees can perform! Because they care!” The second had listed Magicpin's outreach, saying, “Magicpin invites laid-off employees to join across departments," with the email to reach out to for further details.

It has gained popularity on social media with many hoping it will save some of the unemployed.

This idea has gotten attention so fast, that even LinkedIn users praise Magicpin. One commented: “Now that’s how you make a statement and a difference. Taking notes? Yes Madam!”

Another added, Great initiative Madhav Sharma! It’s important for each one of us to prioritise mental health first.”

On the other hand, few people commented that this management style by YesMadam has disrespected all employees regarding stress. He mentioned: “It’s unbelievable that being honest about workplace stress can now cost someone their job. Shame on you, YesMadam. Instead of addressing the root cause—high work pressure and lack of support for employees’ mental health—you chose to fire those who dared to speak up. How is that a solution?... Real care means listening, understanding, and making meaningful changes—not punishing those who raise valid concerns.”

Magicpin’s gesture resonated with others seeking new opportunities. Many LinkedIn users not associated with YesMadam inquired about applying to Magicpin. Responding to the growing interest, Sharma confirmed that anyone is welcome to apply.

He encouraged candidates to send their resumes to the provided email address. Magicpin has made its timely outreach which not only highlights the commitment to workplace well-being but is also a silver lining for people affected by the YesMadam layoffs. In today's growing discussions about mental health and culture at workplaces, this has really touched professionals across all industries.

Background

YesMadam has allegedly terminated over 100 employees through an email. The company had reportedly conducted a mental health survey and, following “careful consideration,” decided to fire employees who admitted to feeling stressed.

A former YesMadam employee expressed their frustration, saying, “What’s happening at YesMadam? First, you conduct a random survey and then fire us overnight because we’re feeling stressed? And not just me, 100 other people have been fired too."
