YesMadam, a home salon services company based in Delhi-NCR, is facing backlash online after allegedly firing over 100 employees. The controversy stems from claims that the company conducted a mental health survey among its staff and then terminated workers who reported high levels of stress.
One of the affected employees voiced outrage on social media, stating, "What’s happening at YesMadam? First, you conduct a survey, and then fire us overnight because we’re feeling stressed? Over 100 of us have been let go."
A screenshot of an email from the company’s HR manager, reportedly addressing the layoffs, has gone viral. The email states that the survey aimed to assess workplace stress levels. However, rather than providing support to those struggling, the company decided to "part ways" with employees identified as highly stressed.
The email’s unapologetic tone has drawn widespread criticism. Social media users labeled the decision as “bizarre” and “insensitive,” with one comment summing up the outrage: “YesMadam conducts a stress survey, and then fires those who admit they’re stressed? This is a next-level corporate absurdity.”
Shitiz Dogra, Associate Director of Digital Marketing at IndiGo, shared the email screenshot on LinkedIn, questioning the legality and ethics of the decision:
While the email’s authenticity has yet to be confirmed independently, the move has triggered discussions about workplace culture and mental health support. Netizens argue that firing employees for admitting stress undermines efforts to create supportive work environments.
