India’s job market is changing fast, and women are getting more job opportunities than ever. A new report shows that in 2025, job opportunities for women will have increased by 48% compared to last year. This growth is happening in industries like IT (Information Technology), banking, manufacturing, and healthcare. More companies are also looking for skilled women in new technology fields like artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data science, and cloud computing.
Which industries have the most jobs for women?
According to the report by Foundit (formerly Monster APAC & ME), about 25% of jobs available to women in 2025 are for freshers (people who are just starting their careers). This means young women are in high demand, especially in fields like IT, human resources (HR), and marketing.
In terms of work experience, most job openings for women fall in the 0-3 years category (53%), followed by 4-6 years (32%). The IT industry offers the highest number of jobs for women, with 34% of all women’s jobs in software and computer-related fields.
Other industries with many job openings for women include:
- Recruitment, staffing, and outsourcing (RPO)
- Banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI)
- Advertising, public relations (PR), and event management
Engineering and production jobs for women are also increasing. In just one year, the number of women in these fields has grown from 6% to 8%.
Where are women getting more jobs?
More women are now getting jobs in smaller cities like Nashik, Surat, Coimbatore, and Jaipur. The report says that 41% of women's jobs are in these Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, while 59% of jobs for women are still in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
Women’s salaries also vary. Most women (81%) earn between 0-10 lakh per year, while 11% earn between 11-25 lakh per year, and 8% earn more than 25 lakh per year.
Another good sign is that more women are studying STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects. 44% of STEM graduates in India are women, which shows that more women are choosing careers in technology and engineering.
What are experts saying about this growth?
Anupama Bhimrajka, VP-Marketing at Foundit, said, “The Indian job market is evolving rapidly, creating greater access and opportunities for women, particularly in high-growth industries and tech-driven roles.”
She also mentioned that 55% more companies are asking employees to work from the office, which shows a shift in employer priorities. However, she admitted that some challenges remain, like salary differences and work mode preferences. Despite this, the overall future of women’s jobs in India looks very bright.
With more jobs, better salaries, and higher participation in top industries, women are becoming a strong part of India's workforce in 2025.
