Train services were disrupted on Thursday morning near Hyderabad after a woman drove her car for nearly 8 kilometres along the railway tracks, from Shankarpalli towards the city. According to the police, the incident led to delays of about 20 minutes for two passenger trains and two goods trains.

When police officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the woman reportedly resisted. However, she was eventually stopped and taken into custody. She was sent for medical tests, and initial reports showed she may have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
The woman, who previously worked in a software company, damaged her car during the incident especially the window. Police recovered her driving licence and PAN card from the vehicle. A case will be registered by the railway police.

In a separate incident in Maharashtra on June 20, train services were delayed after an overhead electric wire (OHE) snapped near Palghar station, about 100 kilometres from Mumbai. The incident occurred at around 6:55 pm and disrupted services along the Vasai Road–Dahanu Road route.
Repair work on the Churchgate-bound line was completed by 10:35 pm, while restoration efforts on the line toward Dahanu continued. Due to the disruption, seven local trains, mainly headed to Dahanu—were cancelled. Nine other trains were halted at different stations, and eight goods trains were also affected.
Hundreds of passengers were left waiting at various suburban stations until services resumed. Railway officials worked through the evening to restore normal operations.
