Letting pets into the workplace is becoming more popular around the world. Many companies are now allowing pets because they’ve seen how animals can help employees feel less stressed, more cheerful, and even more productive. Big tech firms like Amazon and Google have welcomed pets in the office for years, and now, a Hyderabad startup is joining the trend, with a special twist.
Harvesting Robotics, a tech company based in Hyderabad, recently made headlines by hiring a golden retriever named Denver as their Chief Happiness Officer (CHO).
The company, which focuses on building laser-weeding tools to support eco-friendly farming, announced their new “employee” on LinkedIn. The post quickly went viral.
Rahul Arepaka, the co-founder of Harvesting Robotics, shared a light-hearted but heartfelt message with the news:
“Meet our newest hire, Denver – Chief Happiness Officer,” Arepaka wrote. “He doesn’t code. He doesn’t care. He just shows up, steals hearts, and keeps the energy up. Also, we’re officially pet-friendly now. Best decision. BTW: He’s got the best perks in the company.”
The post also featured a picture of Denver wearing a blue collar, sitting happily next to a desk in the office.
With Denver’s arrival, the startup officially became a pet-friendly workplace, allowing employees to bring their furry companions to work too. The company says it made the move to support employee well-being and bring a little extra joy to the office.
So far, the internet has loved the idea. Many people are calling it both adorable and a great way to build a happy work environment.
