The Uttarakhand government has announced that all strikes in state government services will be banned for the next six months. This decision was shared through an official notice issued by Personnel Secretary Shailesh Bagauli on Wednesday.

According to the order, the ban has been imposed under Section 3(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1966, which is also applicable in Uttarakhand. The notice states that, keeping public interest in mind, no government employee in state services will be allowed to go on strike for the next six months from the date of the order.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the ‘Social Media Manthan’ program held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in Dehradun. Speaking at the event, CM Dhami praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the PM has transformed social media into a powerful tool for governance.

He mentioned that social media is currently the most effective medium for communication, and PM Modi has used it to ensure transparency and encourage public participation in government work. The CM also recalled that PM Modi had once said this decade would be a decade of progress for Uttarakhand, and that the state would soon be counted among the leading states in the country.

In another development, CM Dhami made a surprise visit to the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Dehradun on Tuesday. His sudden inspection surprised officials present at the bus terminal. The chief minister walked around the premises to check cleanliness, passenger facilities, and the overall condition of the busy transport hub. He was reportedly unhappy after noticing dirt and garbage in many areas. Calling the situation unacceptable, he reminded officials that important public places must always be clean.

In a symbolic gesture, CM Dhami picked up a broom and swept part of the terminal himself. After the visit, he instructed the Transport Department and the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) to ensure regular cleaning of the ISBT. He also asked them to install signboards promoting cleanliness and maintain a dust-free, litter-free environment for passengers.
