A woman in Baraut town of Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district jumped off a hotel roof and ran away after her husband allegedly found her with another man in a hotel room. The incident occurred on Monday at a hotel on Chaprauli Road.

Police said the woman had checked into the hotel with a man named Shobhit. Shortly after, her husband and in-laws arrived after following her. On seeing them, the woman panicked and jumped off the hotel’s roof, which is around 12 feet high, and managed to escape before police reached the location.

Meanwhile, locals caught the man and handed him over to the police. A video showing the woman jumping off the roof is now circulating on social media. Baraut Kotwali SHO Manoj Kumar Chahal confirmed that the man is in custody and being questioned. The woman’s husband has filed a complaint, expressing concern for his safety.

The hotel was reportedly rented and operated by a youth from Tugana village, who is also being questioned. Police said that an investigation is underway based on the husband's complaint. As per the complaint, the woman got married in 2019 and has a son. Her husband claimed she was involved with multiple men before marriage and continued those relations after marriage. He also alleged that she used to threaten him with false charges and even threatened to kill him if he objected.

The couple was reportedly attending a counselling session at the SP office on the same day. Later, the husband saw her leave with Shobhit on a bike and followed them to the hotel before calling the police. Following her escape, the husband has asked for police protection, fearing for his life
