After the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, several world leaders have expressed their condolences and support for India.
US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese were among those who condemned the attack. They extended their solidarity to the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The global leaders praised India’s resilience and offered assistance during this tragic time, expressing their commitment to standing with India in the fight against terrorism.
US President Donald Trump was the first world leader to reach out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Trump extended his full support to India in bringing the attackers to justice.
Trump conveyed his "deepest condolences at the loss of innocent lives" in the attack. The statement was shared by Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on X (formerly Twitter). Trump's message came as India continues to mourn the tragic loss of life and stand firm against terrorism. In a post on X, Trump stated, "India and the United States stand together in the fight against terror."
Earlier, in a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his shock, saying, "Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against terrorism."
He also extended condolences, saying, "We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!"
US Vice President JD Vance also shared his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. He posted on X, saying, “Usha and I are deeply sorry for the victims of the terrible attack in Pahalgam. Over the past few days, we’ve been moved by the beauty of India and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this tragedy.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the attack, calling it a "brutal crime" that has no justification. He assured that those responsible will face justice. He also expressed his condolences, saying, "The victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam were civilians from various countries. Please convey my sympathy to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed his sadness over the attack. On X, he said, "I am deeply saddened by the barbaric terrorist attack that killed and injured many innocent people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. Israel stands with India in its fight against terrorism."
Leaders who expressed their condolences also included Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who said she was "deeply saddened" by the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. In a post on X, they offered heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. The statement also said that Sri Lanka stands firmly with India in the fight against terrorism.
EU’s Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, calling it “heinous” and offering condolences to the victims and their families. She said the EU stands firmly against terrorism. The UAE also strongly condemned the attack, rejecting all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten peace and security.
On Tuesday, terrorists opened fire at a popular meadow near Pahalgam town in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people, most of them tourists. This is the deadliest terror attack in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike.The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the attack.
