Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Siwan district in Bihar on Friday. During his visit, he will start and lay the foundation stone for many development projects worth ₹5,700 crore. He will also speak at a public event around noon. As part of improving railway services, PM Modi will launch the Vaishali-Deoria railway line, which cost over ₹400 crore to build. A new train will also start running on this route.
He will also flag off the Patliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express. This high-speed train will go through Muzaffarpur and Bettiah, helping people in North Bihar travel faster. Another important part of the visit is the flagging off of the first export locomotive made at the Marhowra Plant. This is a big step under the 'Make in India - Make for the World' plan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch several big projects during his visit to Siwan, Bihar. A powerful train engine made at the Marhowra Plant will be sent to the Republic of Guinea. It has modern features like strong engines, special brakes that save energy, and smart controls. PM Modi will open six new sewage treatment plants under the Namami Gange project. These are worth ₹1,800 crore and will help reduce water pollution and improve cleanliness in Bihar.
He will also lay the foundation for more sewage, sanitation, and water supply projects worth ₹3,000 crore. These will bring clean drinking water to thousands of homes across the state. In the field of renewable energy, PM Modi will start a project to build a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). These batteries will be set up at 15 power stations in places like Siwan, Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, and Motihari. They will store extra electricity for later use.
To support housing for all, PM Modi will give the first instalment of money to over 53,600 people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U). He will also hand over the house keys to selected people who have just received their new homes. This is PM Modi’s second visit to Bihar in less than a month and his fifth this year, showing the central government’s strong focus on the state ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
