Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to his home state, Gujarat, on Monday. During this visit, he will launch several development projects worth ₹82,000 crore.This is his first visit to Gujarat after Operation Sindoor. As part of his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate two new trains through videoconferencing from Dahod. One of them is a Vande Bharat Express. According to Dilip Kumar, Executive Director (Information and Publicity), Railway Board, the two new trains are the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express and the Valsad-Dahod Express.
The Prime Minister will first go to Dahod, where he will inaugurate a Loco Manufacturing Shop-Rolling Stock Workshop. After that, he will address the public in Kharod, Dahod and lay the foundation for railway and other government projects worth ₹24,000 crore.The first one is the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express, which will run between Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad and Veraval, near the famous Somnath temple. This train will run six days a week, except Thursdays. It will have eight coaches and will be very useful for pilgrims and tourists visiting Somnath, a well-known religious place in Gujarat.PM Modi will also flag off another Vande Bharat train from Somnath to Ahmedabad.
Apart from this, he will inaugurate a railway manufacturing unit in Dahod, which has been built under the 'Make in India' campaign. This plant cost over ₹21,000 crore to set up.The second train is the Valsad-Dahod Express, which will run every day between Valsad and Dahod. It will have 17 coaches and cover 346 kilometres. The train will leave from Valsad at 5:50 a.m.This train will stop at 12 stations: Bilimora, Navsari, Surat, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Miyagam Karjan, Vadodara, Samlaya, Derol, Godhra, Piplod, and Limkheda.
These new trains aim to make travel easier for people in Gujarat, whether they are daily passengers or tourists.PM Modi will also launch an electric engine from the Dahod plant and later visit Bhuj, where he will unveil more development projects worth over ₹53,400 crore. He will address public gatherings at both Dahod and Bhuj.
During his Gujarat visit, PM Modi will launch four drinking water projects worth ₹181 crore to provide clean water to 4.6 lakh people in 193 villages and one town in Mahisagar and Dahod.
He will then visit Bhuj to launch and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹53,000 crore, including Kandla Port works, solar plants, power lines, and roads, benefiting multiple districts.
In the evening, he will lead a 3-km roadshow from Ahmedabad Airport to Indira Bridge, with over 50,000 people expected. He will stay overnight at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.
On May 27, he will hold a 2-km roadshow in Gandhinagar, followed by inaugurating projects worth ₹5,536 crore at Mahatma Mandir. These include 22,055 houses under PM Awas Yojana (₹1,006 crore), Sabarmati Riverfront Phase-3 (₹1,000 crore), and distribution of ₹3,300 crore in cheques to urban local bodies under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
