The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that voters will now receive their Electors' Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) within 15 days of updating their details in the electoral rolls. Earlier, it used to take over a month. To expedite and enhance transparency, a real-time tracking system has been implemented. Voters will get SMS updates at every stage, from card generation to delivery, so they always know the status of their voter ID. The ECI has also launched a new IT system on its ECINet platform, which works with the Department of Posts to ensure smooth and timely delivery. This new system replaces the older method, making the process quicker, more efficient, and more secure.
