A minor girl from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, who was raped and then beaten, died on Sunday morning in Patna. The girl was tricked with chocolate near her aunt’s house and taken to a maize field in Muzaffarpur, where she was raped on May 26. She was sent to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for treatment. However, on Saturday, she had to wait for several hours in an ambulance because there were no beds available, according to state Congress chief Rajesh Ram, who was at the hospital when she arrived. The girl died the next day.

The police said the girl had cuts on her throat and chest. The attacker tried to kill her by cutting her throat. Because of this, her vocal cords were damaged and she couldn’t speak. The police have arrested the accused. The girl was first taken to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur on May 26 with serious injuries. Later, she was moved to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH). The PMCH chief doctor, Dr Abhijit Singh, said the hospital staff acted quickly and treated her even in the ambulance.

Dr Singh rejected the family’s claims that the hospital had ignored the girl. He said they treated her carefully as soon as she arrived. The girl’s family said the police at Turki police station in Muzaffarpur refused to file a case because the accused was a powerful person from their village. Instead, the police registered a case based on a complaint from the accused’s family.

When the family went to the Women’s Police Station in Muzaffarpur, the case was finally registered. The police confirmed the girl was raped and said they are investigating. This case has caused a political uproar in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi, a national leader, said the girl died because the government did not provide proper care and protection. He said on social media that the government failed to save her life despite timely treatment.
