Janvi Jindal, a 17-year-old from Chandigarh, has become India’s female sportsperson with the most Guinness World Records, holding 11 titles at such a young age. Her extraordinary success is even more remarkable because she has reached this level without professional training, expensive facilities, or formal coaching.

Janvi has rewritten India’s sporting story through her own hard work, discipline, and creativity. She learned skating entirely on her own by watching YouTube videos and practicing on the footpaths and open grounds near her home. While most athletes train in stadiums, Janvi trained on simple roads, using whatever space she could find. Her self-taught journey has now placed her right behind Sachin Tendulkar, who holds 19 Guinness records, making her the second-highest Guinness record holder among Indian sportspersons.

Janvi is also known for creating new and unique styles that no one had seen before in India. She introduced concepts like Bhangra on Skates and Yoga on Skates, which made her stand out as one of the most innovative freestyle skaters in the country. She began attempting Guinness World Records at the age of 16, and by 18, she had already broken multiple national and international benchmarks. In total, she holds 21 major records, including 8 India Book Records, 1 Asia Book Record, and 1 Worldwide Book of Records title.

Along with being a top-level skater, Janvi is also a national champion and performs well in her studies. She studies in a government school and is currently in Class 12.

Speaking to India Today, Janvi talked about the mental strength required to keep breaking her own records. One of her toughest achievements was the “most spins in 30 seconds.” She earlier held the record with 32 spins, but she pushed herself further and completed 43 spins, setting a new world record.

Janvi trains for 3–4 hours every day. She says her biggest inspiration is her father. With nine years of skating experience already, she has also encouraged many children in her neighbourhood to start skating. From falling on rough roads to achieving international records, Janvi Jindal’s journey shows that talent can come from anywhere if one has passion, patience, and the courage to keep going.
