Delhi is on high alert as tension between India and Pakistan has grown, with shelling reported in border areas like Jammu. Because of the situation, the Delhi government has cancelled all employee leave. At India Gate, visitors were asked to leave as a safety measure. Police made announcements and controlled traffic to clear the area.

Officials said district magistrates held meetings with their teams to assess their preparedness for any health or disaster-related emergency. A police officer stated, "Police will remain alert and active. Night patrols have been increased. Extra forces will be deployed in all sensitive areas."

Later in the evening, the Delhi government’s services department issued an order stopping its employees from taking any leave until further notice. An official from the New Delhi district said a meeting was held to review the readiness of the health and disaster management departments. In East Delhi, officials are checking their emergency response plans and looking for any gaps. Security has been tightened across Delhi, with more police and paramilitary forces deployed at important locations.

“All DCPs are closely watching the law and order situation. They’ve already briefed their teams, including ACPs and SHOs. Delhi Police is fully prepared to handle any emergency,” said a police source.Vigilance has been stepped up at malls, markets, metro stations, hotels, airports, residential colonies, and other crowded areas.

East Delhi DCP Abhishek Dhania said police carried out a full security check at Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Metro Station as part of anti-terror efforts. He added that 41 CCTV cameras are active there, and CISF personnel are on duty round the clock to keep commuters safe.

Bomb Disposal Squads also conducted checks at various locations to prevent any sabotage. DCP (Southwest) Surendra Choudhary said the checks were done in malls, markets, and important sites to boost safety and preparedness.Vehicle checks at Delhi’s borders have also been increased, with every vehicle entering the city being thoroughly inspected.
