The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday said it has caught a CRPF personnel for passing on secret security details to Pakistani intelligence officials. The jawan, named Moti Ram Jat, was reportedly involved in spying and had been sharing sensitive information related to the country's security with Pakistani officers since 2023, according to officials.The NIA also said that Moti Ram was receiving money from Pakistani officials through different sources. He was caught and arrested in Delhi, and the agency is still questioning him. The Special Court at Patiala House has sent the arrested CRPF jawan, Moti Ram Jat, to NIA custody until June 6 for further questioning.

After the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, security agencies have stepped up their crackdown on spying activities. In the last two weeks, at least 12 people haveĀ been arrested from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Investigations point to a spy network connected to Pakistan that is active in northern India. Among those arrested are two women, Jyoti Malhotra from Haryana, a social mediainfluencer with 3.77 lakh YouTube subscribers and 1.33 lakh Instagram followers, and 31-year-old Guzala from Punjab. Officials say both were in contact with a Pakistani officer named Ehsan-ur-Rahim (also known as Danish), who works at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

Also, a man from Gujarat has been arrested for spying for Pakistan. The Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) caught Sahadev Singh Gohil from the Kachch area on Saturday.He worked as a health worker and is accused of sharing important information about the border, BSF, and the Indian Navy with Pakistan. The ATS said he was in contact with a Pakistani agent named Aditi Bhardwaj on WhatsApp. She honey-trapped him and made him share sensitive details. Gohil was also paid Rs 40,000 for this.
