A Bengaluru man recently claimed to have a rare wolfdog that he had purchased for a whopping  $5.7 million. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now discovered that S. Satish does not own the news that was widely publicized and attracted a lot of attention from dog lovers. It was revealed by the authorities that the information was false and that it violated the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

During the search, the wolfdog, known as Cadabomb Okami, which is believed to be a hybrid between a wolf and a Caucasian shepherd, was not discovered in his home. Additionally, ED discovered that Satish did not have the documentation to back up his claims and did not own the uncommon breed.

"Over 1 lakh people flocked to see our showstopper, the majestic Cadaboms wolfdog," Satish tweeted after posting a video of the animal on social media earlier this month.

Speaking of the dog, he said, “
He is an extremely rare breed of dog and looks exactly like a wolf. This breed has not been sold in the world before. The dog was bred in the US and is extraordinary. I spent 50 million INR on buying this pup because I am fond of dogs and like to own unique dogs and introduce them to India,” in an interview with Sun, Satish stated.

The dog is owned by someone else

The fact that the dog was owned by someone else added another plot to the story. The stunt now appears to have been thoroughly planned and organised as a publicity stunt to gain social media attention.

Raids were carried out at the dog breeder's JP Nagar III Phase property in Bengaluru. Given the significant amount, the ED initiated a preliminary investigation to look for potential violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). But according to the organisation, Satish lacked the funds to buy such a costly pet.

Despite the fact that no FEMA case has been filed, the incident has brought attention to how easily social media antics can lead to an official investigation.
