The popular reality show Bigg Boss 19 has run into legal trouble after being accused of using two Bollywood songs without permission.

According to reports, the makers of the show have received a legal notice from Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), India’s oldest music licensing body. The notice says that episode 11 of the show featured two songs, Chikni Chameli from Agneepath and Dhat Tere Ki from Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, without getting the required licence.

PPL has demanded Rs 2 crore (approximately Rs 20 million) in damages and a licence fee from the producers. The notice was reportedly served on September 19.

The organisation has also accused the producers, Endemol Shine India, of using the recordings without securing the mandatory public performance licence. As of now, the makers of the show have not issued any statement on the matter.
