A man in Sitapur,Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly killing his five-year-old daughter and cutting her body into four pieces. The reason behind the crime is shocking, police say Mohit was angry because his daughter, Tani, visited neighbours with whom he had a dispute.
A senior police officer said that on February 25, they received information that the child was missing. "We registered a case and formed four teams to find her. During the search, we found a body part. The next day, we found the remaining parts. By then, it was clear that she had been murdered," said Additional Superintendent of Police Pravin Ranjan Singh.
The officer said they kept questioning people as part of the investigation when the girl's father suddenly disappeared. "He gave his phone to his wife and went missing. When this happened, we asked the family about what had happened before the girl disappeared. When he returned, we questioned him, and he eventually admitted to killing his daughter and dumping her body," the officer said.
Mohit told the police that his family used to be very close to their neighbours, Ramu’s family, and they often visited each other. "A few days ago, they fought and stopped talking. Mohit kept telling his daughter not to go to Ramu’s house, but she continued to visit and play there," the officer added.
Mohit told the police that on the day of the incident, he saw his daughter coming back from Ramu’s house, which made him furious. In anger, he took her on his bike to a deserted area and strangled her with her clothes. He then dumped her body in a mustard field," the officer said.
The senior police officer praised the team for solving the shocking crime and said that over 100 people were questioned during the investigation.
