Police have found new evidence in the case of a hotel worker's alleged molestation in Mukkam, Kerala. The new evidence revealed that the hotel owner not only harassed the woman but also threatened her afterwards.
The woman, who works at the hotel, filed a complaint against the owner, accusing him of sexual harassment. She claimed that he assaulted her and later tried to intimidate her into staying silent.
Devdas, the owner of Mukkam SankethamHotel, had sent WhatsApp messages to the employee, expressing his sexual intentions. Despite repeatedly apologizing for his behaviour, he later threatened her after she was injured and hospitalized, saying, "This is your first dose."
The messages were sent after the woman informed Devdas of her decision to resign. Her resignation came after multiple instances of inappropriate behaviour from him, followed by his apologies.
Devdas promised the woman that he would not repeat his misconduct and assured her that their interactions would remain professional. He pleaded for another chance and told her, "You don’t have to return the money I lent you." In one of his messages, he also called her "the angel of the Sanketham."
The young womanhad trusted Devdas’s promises and continued working at the hotel. However, within days, he started sending her more messages, making inappropriate comments about her body and expressing his sexual interest.
Despite her repeatedly asking him to stop, Devdas continued harassing her. Feeling helpless, she warned him that she would tell his wife about his behaviour. In response, Devdas, along with his employees, went to her house, threatened her, and even tried to assault her.
To escape the attack, the young woman jumped from the first floor, suffering serious injuries. While she was in the hospital, Devdas sent her a threatening message saying, "This is your first dose." He later deleted two more messages.
Devdas was eventually caught in Kunnamkulam while trying to evade the police and has now been taken into custody. Two of his accomplices, Suresh and Riyas, surrendered to the Thamarassery court. The police plan to question them further, as they face charges of home invasion and outraging a woman's modesty.
