A shocking case of child abuse has come to light in Mumbai, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly tied, beaten, and burnt by her father for not going to bed on time.

The police said that the man hurt his daughter using a cigarette. A case has been registered against him under Sections 115(2) and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for voluntarily hurting his daughter with dangerous substances.

The incident was reported after the complainant received a disturbing video from the man's wife at around 2:45 pm. The video clearly showed the accused tying the girl's legs, beating her, and burning her cheek with a cigarette.

Disturbed by the video, the complainant quickly went to the Mankhurd Police Station and presented it to the officers. A woman police officer then joined the complainant and went to the accused's house to begin the investigation.

During the enquiry, the young girl said that her father tortured her because she "was not sleeping on time".

The police have now registered the case and started legal action against the father. They assured that all steps are being taken to protect the child and ensure her safety. The investigation is currently underway.
