At his younger son Jeet's simple and traditional wedding, billionaire Gautam Adani donated ₹10,000 crore towards various social initiatives, including healthcare, education, and skill development.
According to sources close to the 62-year-old industrialist, the funds will be used to establish a network of affordable world-class hospitals, medical colleges, top-tier K-12 schools, and advanced skill academies that guarantee employability.
Jeet Adani, 28, son of billionaire Gautam Adani, married his fiancee Diva Shah on Friday in an intimate ceremony at Shantigram, Ahmedabad. The wedding was a private affair with only close family and a few friends in attendance, following traditional Jain and Gujarati rituals.
After sharing wedding pictures, Gautam Adani expressed gratitude and sought blessings for the newlyweds.
"With the blessings of Almighty God, Jeet and Diva got married today (Friday). It was a small and extremely private function, so we could not invite all the well-wishers even if we wanted to, for which I apologise," Adani tweeted.
Who are Jeet Adani and Diva Shah?
Jeet Adani, an engineering graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, is a director at Adani Airports, overseeing the group's airport business. He joined Adani Group in 2019, starting his career in the CFO office.
Diva Shah is the daughter of diamond merchant Jaimin Shah, co-owner of C Dinesh and Co Pvt Ltd, a diamond manufacturing firm with operations in Mumbai and Surat.
During his visit to Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, last month, Gautam Adani revealed that the wedding would be a simple and traditional ceremony, without lavish celebrations or celebrity guests.
"Our family's values are rooted in simplicity, and we live like any working-class household. Jeet is also here (at Kumbh) to seek Ma Ganga's blessings. The wedding will be a private and traditional family affair," he said after performing the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Sangam with his family.
