On Tuesday, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani will take part in spiritual and charitable activities at the Maha Kumbh Mela. He is scheduled to visit the ISKCON camp and offer prayers at the statue of Lord Hanuman in Bandhwa.

Adani will also serve meals in the community kitchen (Bhandara) area, where free food is being distributed to pilgrims. The ISKCON camp has prepared extensively for Adani’s visit.

How is the Adani Group helping at the Maha Kumbh?

In collaboration with ISKCON and Gita Press, the Adani Group has been providing free meals to one lakh devotees every day. The meals include roti, dal, rice, vegetables, and sweets. One crore Aarti offerings are also being distributed, with Adani participating in the efforts.

To make it easier for pilgrims to move around the fairgrounds, the Adani Group has introduced battery-operated golf carts. These vehicles are especially helpful for the elderly, children, and differently-abled visitors, ensuring their experience is smooth and convenient.

On Monday, philanthropist and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy arrived in Prayagraj to participate in the Maha Kumbh. She expressed her excitement, calling the event a “rare spiritual opportunity.”

“I am very excited because this is 'Teerthraj.' It (Maha Kumbh) came after 144 years, and I am excited, hopeful, and extremely happy. I am here for three days,” Murthy told ANI.

Sudha Murthy, a renowned author and social worker, was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2023 and the Padma Shri in 2006 for her contributions to social welfare. She is married to Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy and is the mother-in-law of former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, continues to draw enormous crowds. By January 20, approximately 87.9 million pilgrims had participated, with over 5.33 million taking a holy dip at the Sangam Triveni by Monday evening.
