A 32-year-old man from Vrindavan attempted to perform surgery on himself to relieve severe stomach pain. Raja Babu, from Sunrakh village, had been suffering from intense pain for several days. Despite visiting doctors multiple times, he couldn’t find any relief. Frustrated, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
Raja Babu had undergone an appendix surgery 18 years ago and believed he could now perform surgery on himself. According to his nephew, Rahul, Raja Babu first searched YouTube to learn how to operate on his stomach. He then made a shopping list and bought medical supplies, including blades, anesthesia, needles, and plastic thread for stitching, from a local medical store.
On Wednesday, Raja Babu began his self-operation at home. He injected himself with anesthesia, which initially numbed the pain. While in this state, he cut open his stomach and stitched it back up. However, once the anesthesia wore off, he felt unbearable pain and started screaming.

Hearing his screams, his family members rushed him to the District Joint Hospital. There, doctors gave him immediate medical care. Due to his critical condition, they referred him to Agra’s SN Hospital for further treatment.
Rahul explained that Raja Babu attempted the surgery out of desperation after not getting any relief from doctors. “He tried to do the operation on his own after he couldn’t find a solution to his pain,” Rahul said.
