A Plus Ultra Airlines flight from Madrid, Spain, to Caracas, Venezuela, faced a tense situation when a disruptive passenger tried to open the emergency door mid-flight, causing panic among travelers.

The incident took place on February 28, when the passenger started shouting and slapping a fellow passenger who was asleep, a flight attendant told Jam Press. Crew members intervened, moved him to another seat, and tried to calm him down, but he continued to act aggressively.

Moments later, he approached the emergency exit and attempted to open it, sending passengers into a state of alarm. A flight attendant quickly restrained him, preventing a potential disaster.

The airline has not yet released details about the passenger's identity or any legal action taken. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident further.

The video which is buzzing all over social media shows crew members struggling to restrain the man, while passengers scream in fear. The clip ends with the passenger lying on the floor with his wrists tied.

A spokesperson for Plus Ultra Airlines stated, "Our cabin crew immediately controlled the passenger and followed safety protocols. He was secured at the back of the plane until landing, under the watch of two crew members." Upon arrival in Caracas, the passenger was taken into custody by authorities.

A similar case took place in India in January, when a passenger on an IndiGo flight from Jodhpur to Bengaluru opened the emergency exit door mid-flight, creating chaos onboard. The pilots and crew followed safety protocols, and the passenger was arrested and handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for further investigation.
