A cruise company from Florida, Villa Vie Residences, has introduced a unique programme for Americans. The programme, called "Tour La Vie," lets passengers travel the world for up to four years. It also provides an opportunity to avoid President-elect Donald Trump’s second term in office. The cruise will visit over 140 countries, allowing passengers to explore the world while staying away from the United States.
Different cruise options and prices
The "Tour La Vie" programme has several options:
- A one-year "Escape from Reality" cruise
- A two-year "mid-term selection" cruise
- A three-year "Everywhere but Home" cruise
- A four-year "Skip Forward" trip
The cost for this unique cruise experience starts at just under $40,000 per year. For those choosing the full four-year trip, a single cabin is priced at $256,000, while double cabins go up to $320,000. The price includes meals, drinks, WiFi, medical checkups, weekly housekeeping, and biweekly laundry. Alcohol is also included, but only during dinner.
The Villa Vie Odyssey cruise offers an unforgettable journey. Travellers will spend four months exploring South America after spending a month in the Caribbean. The trip includes sailing through the Panama Canal, visiting the Chilean Fjords, and seeing two World Wonders. Travellers will also enjoy an Antarctic sail-by, experience the famous Carnival in Rio, and spend eight days exploring the Amazon River.
The Villa Vie Odyssey is on an incredible 15-year journey around the world. The cruise will visit all seven continents, 13 World Wonders, and more than 100 tropical islands. Although the ship faced delays in Belfast due to unexpected repairs, it finally set sail in late September to begin its adventure.
A stress-free election experience at sea
Passengers on board during the 2026 midterm and 2028 presidential elections can still vote using mail-in ballots. These ballots will be sent to the cruise company’s office and then delivered to the ship. According to CEO Michael Petterson, the cruise is designed as a getaway for people feeling stressed or uneasy. He also mentioned that the marketing campaign was planned before the election results were announced.
On Election Night, the ship organised two watch parties. One was for Fox News viewers, and the other was for MSNBC viewers. CEO Mikael Petterson said passengers avoided political arguments and focused on enjoying their shared lifestyle during the cruise.
Since the programme was announced on November 7, Villa Vie Residences has received a lot of interest. The Odyssey can hold up to 600 residents, providing a luxurious way to travel the world. This journey offers a mix of adventure and comfort, allowing Americans to relax and explore far from home.
