Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Iran's Islamic regime planned to kill US President Donald Trump, calling him “enemy number one,” according to Fox News. In an interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier, Netanyahu said, “They want to kill him. He’s enemy number one. He’s a strong leader. He didn’t follow the weak path of trying to make soft deals with them.”
Netanyahu praised Trump for pulling the US out of the Iran nuclear deal, which he called a “fake agreement,” and for ordering the killing of Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that US President Donald Trump became a top target for Iran because of his tough stance against the country’s nuclear plans. Netanyahu said Trump told Iran it could not have nuclear weapons or enrich uranium.
Netanyahu also revealed that he was targeted by Iran when a missile was fired at his bedroom. He called himself Trump’s “junior partner” in stopping Iran’s nuclear program. Justifying Israel’s strong military actions, Netanyahu said the country faced a serious threat of nuclear attack. He warned that Iran is trying to make an atomic bomb and is rapidly building up its missile stockpile. He claimed Iran could produce 3,600 missiles a year now, 10,000 within three years, and 20,000 in 26 years.
He added, “No country, especially one as small as Israel, can survive such a threat.” Netanyahu further said Israel is fighting not just for itself but for global safety. He claimed the country’s latest military operation has badly damaged Iran’s nuclear program and made it clear that future talks with Iran are not an option.
Despite Iran launching a major missile attack on Israeli cities in response, most of the missiles were intercepted. Netanyahu said Israel is ready to take any step needed to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear threat.
He described the mission, named Operation Rising Lion, as one of the most successful military actions in history. Speaking directly to the people of Iran, he said they’ve lived under the same harsh regime for 50 years—one that continues to threaten Israel’s existence.
