A young man named Mangal Prasad from Ghasi Ram Purwa village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district made a surprising win on a fantasy cricket app.
According to the India Today report, he placed a bet of just ₹39 and ended up winning ₹4 crore! This unexpected win brought lots of joy and celebration to his village, as neighbours and relatives came to his home to congratulate him.
Mangal Prasad is employed at a plywood factory in Hapur. He didn’t finish school and comes from a big family. His father, Sukhlal Saroj, is a farmer. Mangal has five brothers and two sisters. He is also married and has three children, two sons and a daughter.
On April 29, during the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings, he created his fantasy cricket team on the Dream11 app. That’s when luck smiled at him.

Although he won ₹4 crore, Mangal will get ₹2.8 crore after 30% tax is deducted. He shared in a video that he has been playing on Dream11 for a few months, mostly using ₹49 to enter contests. But on that special day, he chose to enter a game with only ₹39, and it changed everything.
In the video, he said, “I had been hoping for a win for a long time but would often end up losing in fantasy cricket contests.” He also said that he wants to use the prize money to start a business. He mentioned that although the prize money has been credited, it hasn’t shown up in his bank account yet.
The video of his story quickly spread on social media and has already received nearly a million views. People had different reactions. One user said, “I’ve never done it before, but this guy is really motivating me to try.” But others warned against copying such risky games. “Don’t get influenced by such exceptions and put all your hard-earned money in these betting apps. You will never be able to get out of this addiction,” another user commented.
